Miami Museum Minutes for April 18, 2012

Call to order at 7:00pm
Additions to and adoption of agenda:
Adopt Minutes: from Nov 23, 2012
Adopt financial statement from the period ending April 18th 2012. We have $ 3845.90 in our chequing account and have $3856.00 in our savings account.
Report on winter project:
Mae and Dawn covered a dozen or so hangers with cotton gaze and linen for the clothes in our collection.
New Business:
-Craig Blagdon and Lise Mcnair will be contacted before next meeting to look at the computer we have been given by the Morden Library to see if it is suitable for our needs. They will also devise a formula for a select group of students at the Miami High School to re-catalogue the museum exhibits. They will use their school camera.... putting a purchase of our own camera on hold while this plan either succeeds or is changed.
-Dawn to be paid for the candy she bought for the Christmas tree lighting event in on Dec 1st 2011.
-Members to visit St Claude Jail House to see how they have restored their building.
- A professional estimate to be done on the cost of repairing the roof of the Museum.
- Members where all challenged to recruit one new member each to bring to the next meeting as new members are needed to make the summer opening of the Museum more enjoyable.
- It was decided by all that a onetime fee of $10.00 be charged for each new membership of the Museum.
-It was decided by all that we should order 600 more tickets for our raffle....with two hundred to be held back to sell at the Reunion. Diane suggested we do the count per book dividable by 3. There will be 21 tickets in each book.
- A new Member Thelma Alexander joined the Museum this month. Welcome Thelma ...glad to have you aboard!
-Dawn Bird agreed to remain as president for another year until April of 2013. Then an election for president will be held.
-Jim Pankiw was nominated for vise-president by Martin Moody seconded by Gail Snider all were in agreement. Jim accepted.
